Things are slowly, slowly approaching something that could be considered 'normal.' This weekend, my sister
And then we went to Halifax on friday.
To start the game off, I didn't get very much sleep the previous night. For some reason, I had a lot of excess energy after a day of being utterly beat. On the plus side, I took the opportunity to beat Final Fantasy I after 16 years of playing it sporadically (though, I'm only half counting it, as it was the Dawn of Souls version which is MUCH easier). 20 rounds of punching Chaos in the face was satisfying, but didn't tire me out enough to net me more than three hours of sleep (and no, I only spent about an hour playing the game.)
The drive down was pretty scary, with a metric ton of complete and utter Moron Drivers infesting the highway, followed by a rather large number of reckless -pedestrians- once we reached Halifax proper. I also made the mistake of holding back on buying anything at Chapters in hopes that Strange Adventures would have some good Revoltech or Robot Damashii Figures.
...Fuckers replaced their Japanese Toy Import section with a bunch of graphic novels about Mid-Life Crises. Almost nuked the place. Was too tired.
My sister's train was also delayed about an hour, which led my sleep-deprived brain to muse about it being attacked by 'Train Pirates'. Just to illustrate how tired I was.
And when I got home...I once again didn't get much sleep. Having to get up at 8 the next day didn't help much. So, went to work, and it was fairly uneventful, aside from having to create a makeshift lunch on the fly due to everyone else at home being as utterly beat as me. So, around 8PM, my shift ended, and I went outside to catch a ride home with my mom.
And waited.
...And waited...
.......And waited some more.
About an hour or so later, having exhausted the possibilities that my schedule had been forgotten/realistic delays, I phoned home.
...My mom had been unexpectedly called in to work, and thus I had to take a cab. She - not being especially pleased with this either - arranged for her workplace to pay my fare. So, I arrived there, talked for a bit, and was then ushered back out by junior staff as the store was closing.
And waited.
...And Waited...
.......And Waited.
.............And got home an hour later.
Moral of the story: I took a sanity day today, because I smell a Rolling Barrage Juggle Combo Cluster Fuck in the making.
Now, on the non-bitching side:
Right now, I'm rather thankful for having employment. This is something I have not had in previous years, and which makes most things much more Doable.
I'm VERY thankful to be out of that house. Cold as it sounds, I fucking despise the thing that's replaced my father, and wish it a slow and agonizing death. Having to work with it is awkward enough at this point.
On that note, I am EXCEPTIONALLY thankful for all of you, my friends, who have stood by me through this excruable bullshit. You Gals and Guys have made this last month bearable, and I couldn't be more grateful. Just wish my 'Nakama' wasn't so widely spread that we couldn't all have a bigass party.
Special thanks to
And, of course, I'm going to be putting out more Kamen Rider Hagane stuff after this, because it's been a while since I did a Just For Fun series that doesn't take itself seriously. Seems to be a hit so far.
Happy thanksgiving, all!
